When someone commits suicide its not that they are generally trying to bring pain upon others, thats sooo selfish to think that they did it just to hurt you! They obviously no longer value life, or think that death is a better option, or literally just have physically a metal problem and it isnt even really choice anymore.
All of those who posted, anything about them being cowardly or weak is weak in that they needed to write it, it's sad, have some sympathy, and stop judging these guys.
I dont like the band or suicide or depression or any of that either, and think its cowardly to give up but then again im not in that guys shoes. Funeral, I have seen a quote-unquote "emo" kid smile. Happy is indeed an emotional, is it not? In the meantime, "emo" is so much more than that. Sure, it might sometimes be sad, but it's relieving to have someone to cry with, to understand your pain, even if only by song.
Something that I can really listen to and connect with and be like "I know what this guy [or girl] was thinking when they wrote this". It was a collection of musical turds. And before you think I'm bashing them, I actually like the band. What they have to do with the emo scene is beyond me though. They're basically rap metal with hip-hop sensibilities and punk influences. Pysthe, I don't only listen to "emo" music. They are rapcore. My personnal favorite from them is dangerous CBC just so happens to be my boyfriend's favorite, so I listen to that a lot.
Their new album, 'Insomnia' is a return to form, for the most part. It has some good tunes on it. I recommend the song 'Mirrorballin' for you two ; Hedpe's tightest album so far remains 'Broke,' but their most lyrically creative is easily the self-titled album. With Insomnia, the band draws more heavily on hip-hop, which actually gives their songs a bit more juice and helps them balance the heavier aspect of their music.
Still, even that method didn't work on all the songs. But anyway I respect your opinion, however biased it is.
I love Chiodos and Craig Owens. He's the most talented singer I have ever heard and it would have been a shame if that talent would have gotten to a waste. Craigs my neighbor He is a good guy and has been going through a lot of issues in his personal life. Alright if you go through with suicide, well then you must have had serious problems. And if you don't go through with it, well.. Watched a movie the other night called "Wristcutters: A Love Story" or something It wasn't actually as emo as the title sounds.

Craig clearly had some real problems, so this attempt means that he needs help. And honestly, what is he supposed to say, especially to fans? You're complaining and saying that due to what he said, it was an apparent cry for attention.
